"Divorce His, Divorce Hers" with Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor

"Divorce His, Divorce Hers" with Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor
Cat No. SUN-9106

`Divorce His; Divorce Hers' is the story of a crumbling marriage as told first from the husband's (Richard Burton) point of view and then in the second half, from the wife's (Elizabeth Taylor. Jane and Martin Reynolds live in Rome in the early1970's and after 18 years come to the slow and painful end of their marriage. This film was originally made for television and because of its length was shown in several parts. A unique insight, and perhaps interesting irony, as the principal characters play out a tale which was to become quite real.

"Father's Little Dividend" with Spencer Tracy and Elizabeth Taylor

"Father's Little Dividend" with Spencer Tracy and Elizabeth Taylor
Cat No. SUN-9107

Stanley Banks has just recovered from his daughter's wedding when he learns she is going to have a baby. He is strongly opposed at first, and disputes arise between maternal and paternal grandparents. Father's Little Dividend, a sequel to Father of the Bride, has more of the same kind of comic insight into the natural stresses of middle aged family life that the original film had. This time the crisis is a first grandchild. Spencer Tracy, who was and remains impeccably cast in the role, achieves just the right balance of humor and humanity. Father’s Little Dividend is a warm and tender comedy, something which is such a rare commodity in this day and age.

"The Last Time I Saw Paris" with Elizabeth Taylor

"The Last Time I Saw Paris" with Elizabeth Taylor
Cat No. SUN-9108

Loosely based on F. Scott Fitzgerald's Paradise Revisited, MGM's The Last Time I Saw Paris is a star-studded production, luxuriously directed by Richard Brooks. Van Johnson plays reporter Charles Wills, who while covering the VE Day celebrations in Paris, meets and falls in love with the gorgeous Helen Ellsworth (Elizabeth Taylor). Soon afterwards, Charles and Helen are married. Charles supports his wife with a low-paying job, devoting his evenings to writing a novel. After numerous rejections, Charles is more than willing to give up writing and live off the revenue of a Texas oil well in which he'd invested. As he squanders his newfound riches on creature comforts, he loses his literary ambitions and, slowly but surely, the love and devotion of his wife. His self-destructive behavior is halted only by a devastating tragedy. Donna Reed co-stars as Charles sister-in-law Marion, who carries a torch for him throughout the film.

 "Penny Serenade" with Cary Grant
Cat No. SUN-9109

As Julie (Irenne Dunne) prepares to leave her husband Roger (Cary Grant), she begins to play through a stack of recordings, each of which reminds her of events in their lives together. One of them is the song that was playing when she and Roger first met in a music store. Other songs remind her of their courtship, their marriage, their desire for a child, and the joys and sorrows that they have shared. A flood of memories comes back to her as she ponders their present problems and how they arose…

"Charade" with Cary Grant

 "Charade" with Cary Grant
Cat No. SUN-9111

Regina Lambert (Audrey Hepburn) returns to Paris from a ski holiday in Switzerland to find that her husband has been murdered. She is later told by CIA agent Hamilton Bartholemew (Walter Matthau) that Charles Lambert was one of five men who stole $250,000 in gold from the U.S. government during World War II, and the government wants it back! It seems that a number of other dubious characters are also interested in the whereabouts of this cash, including the suave and stylish Peter Joshua (Cary Grant), thus begins an elaborate charade in which nothing is what it seems to be. An all-star cast feature in this exceptional thriller.

"Home Town Story" with Marilyn Monroe

"Home Town Story" with Marilyn Monroe
Cat No. SUN-9112

Home Town Story was commissioned as a pro-Big Business film by General Motors. The story revolves around Blake Washburn, a mildly leftist newspaperman, played by Jeffrey Lynn. Returning to his home town, Washburn turns his journalistic vitriol upon the local business interests. When his kid sister Katie (Melinda Plowman), who is trapped as a result of a cave-in, is rescued by locally produced technology, Washburn realises the value of the capitalist system. Home Town Story was originally distributed by MGM, then disappeared into obscurity. It might have remained there had it not been for the presence of a young Marilyn Monroe in a supporting part.
